Signs you've outgrown spreadsheets and direct connections

📅

Month-end takes days of exports

Someone pulls reports from three or four systems, pastes them together and fixes the mismatches by hand. Every month, the same work again.

⚖️

Finance and operations show different numbers

Two reports, two answers, and a meeting spent arguing about whose number is right instead of what to do about it.

🐢

Power BI is slow or keeps breaking

Reports pointed straight at your ERP time out, refreshes fail, and a small change in one system quietly breaks a dashboard.

➕

You're adding a system or a company

A new ERP, an acquisition or a new location means one more source to stitch in. Without a foundation, every addition makes reporting harder.

What a data warehouse actually is

Picture your business systems as filing cabinets in different buildings. Each one is organized its own way, and getting a full picture means driving between them.

A data warehouse is one organized library. On a schedule, it collects a copy of everything, files it the same way and checks it against your books. Power BI reads from the library, not the cabinets.

Your systems keep running exactly as they do today. Nothing gets replaced.

Why we build it first

You pour the slab before you frame the house. A dashboard built on messy, disconnected data looks fine on day one and cracks by month three. A dashboard built on a warehouse stays fast, accurate and easy to extend.

What every data warehouse project delivers

🔄

Automatic data pipelines

Your systems sync on a schedule, with monitoring and alerts if something fails. No more manual exports.

🧾

Numbers that tie to your GL

Built-in checks compare the warehouse to your general ledger, so finance can trust every figure on the dashboard.

📖

One definition per number

Revenue, margin and DSO mean the same thing in every report, written down in a plain-language data dictionary.

🔐

Security that matches your org chart

Each person sees the data they should, from the CFO down to a regional manager.

Questions before you book

What is a data warehouse, and do I need one? +
A data warehouse is one central, organized copy of the data from all your business systems, cleaned up and checked against your books. You likely need one if your reports pull from three or more systems, if finance and operations disagree on numbers, or if month-end reporting takes days of manual work.
Can't Power BI just connect to my systems directly? +
For one or two simple sources, often yes, and we'll tell you so. Direct connections start to struggle when you combine several systems, need numbers to tie to the GL, or have enough data that refreshes slow down. That's when a warehouse pays for itself.
Where does our data live, and who owns it? +
In your own Microsoft Azure account. You own the warehouse, the pipelines, the Power BI reports and the documentation. If we part ways, everything stays with you.
How long does a data warehouse project take? +
It depends on how many systems are involved. Our freight client went from kickoff to a live dashboard in 8 weeks. After the assessment you get a fixed timeline, not an open-ended estimate.
How much does it cost? +
Every project is a fixed price, quoted after the assessment. No hourly billing and no surprise change orders. Azure running costs are billed by Microsoft directly to you, and we size the setup to your data so those stay predictable.
Do we need IT staff to maintain it? +
No. Pipelines run on a schedule with alerts if anything fails, and we hand over plain-language documentation. If you'd rather not think about it at all, our Managed BI option keeps it running and improving.

One source of truth.
Every number ties out.
